ChildrenChildren are welcome at Ironbarks. Our three boys love spending time exploring the property with their mum and dad. There are lots of exciting things to find, crystals to take back for show and tell and lots of mini-beasts to find amongst the grasses. Ironbarks is an ideal accommodation option for families wanting a farmstay experience near Maldon, St Arnauld, Daylesford, Bendigo, Tarnagulla, Maryborough, Castlemaine, Avoca, the Victorian Central Goldfields and the Pyrenees Wine District. Ironbarks is not a working farm although flocks of the neighbour's sheep often pass through on their way for a drink and kangaroos treat it as their own. Having the children spend time outside is part of what being in Ironbarks is about for children: walking, kicking the ball, flying a kite, climbing on the Play Fort, bike riding, chasing a wallaby, catching Yabbies, bushwalks, and just getting a bit dirty . We've found that children enjoy spending time on the deck, in and out of the hammock, getting some fresh air. Children that have grown up in the city often haven't seen a night sky like you can see at Ironbarks. We sit out in the evenings spotting satellites as they pass and waiting for shooting stars. Special. Ironbarks has a port-a-cot for infants, toys and activities and a wonderful bedroom for children. We'll talk to you about ideas to help your children have a fantastic time.
Things nearby to do for Children: The Dunolly pool is a favourite place for Children of all ages in Summer. In 2011 it is $6 for Adults and $3 for the kiddies. Well worth a visit for an Adult cool off and Child energy burn. Check out the Maldon Steam train, explore Captain Melville's caves. Of course, you are in a rural setting in the Australian Bush - stay close to your children and look after them. |
