We're really excited that the comments from guests are so positive, here's a few from our favourite guests:

The weekend was fantastic. Everybody had a great time, the music was as loud as we could handle and a lot of great bush walks and little adventures were had by all. We took a long walk up through the bush, caught sight of 2 kangaroos. Up on the right above the 2nd dam, we walked up that rise and there was an amazing view over the fields!! If you haven't seen it, it's stunning! Your place is truly a excellent hideaway!

As we were there for only 3 days, we perhaps didn't explore the property as much as we could have done.
We just loved the secluded position and peace of the place tucked away beyond the rise of the hill.
Helen and I went for alternate early morning jogs down Gloury road and Stuart Mill road. We wanted to walk the Mt Hooghly track but didn`t get bround to it, we were so relaxed.
William and James loved the sense of space everywhere, but, most of all ,the hammock! We also went to Dunnolly pool on Sat.afternoon before the change came through.
I can`t think of anything that would have made our stay more enjoyable: the facilities are so good.

It was so fantastic ! When we arrived at the house we saw a big Kangaroo walking around the house. We are from the Netherlands and we have never seen a kangaroo for real. It was one of our most beautiful holiday houses we have had, that is a big compliment !!!!

We loved staying at Dunolly. The accommodation was more than adequate, with plenty of space for 2 families. We went for lovely walks, the children spent most of the time swimming in the dam. We even caught Yabbies and ate 3 of them. A truly stunning weekend away. We cant wait to do it again.

Janet and Bruce, Nov 2011

We had the best weekend thank you.  I can't believe how much fun they had in the hammock and NOT catching yabbies.  They must have cast the nets in a hundred times, waited a minute and then pulled them back out.  ...

They loved the orienteering map and we found almost everything.  We love your property, saw kangaroos and a lizard and a great thunderstorm with lightning that they had never seen before.

Just letting you know that we had a fantastic weekend at Ironbarks. Loved the house and the property and managed to get in a couple of rides through the bush - up to Goldsborough and another up to Moliagul. It's a very interesting area. Also visited the butcher and got our Monday night's dinner - it was so good I went back this morning and brought home supplies from him for this week. There was a market in the main street on Sunday, so that was a bonus too.

We had a glorious time. So much so that we've spent the last hour looking for properties in Dunolly and surrounds.
I felt like I was on school camp. As you know we have 2 small children and it was so nice not to have to watch their every move. Even when we were in the towns there weren't any cars for me to have to worry about. I also really loved being in a renovated property. So often country properties are just terrible. Crochet, pot pouri and floral a plenty....The kids spent hours in the hammock.

We absolutely loved the house, it was more than we could have hoped for.  My sister got married on the Saturday in Maryborough so that took up most of the day, and aside from a quick trip into Dunolly bakery for lunch, we just spent the time soaking up the fresh air and peace and quiet.
Our daughter is still asking to go back to "the other house", she loved the play equipment, digging the tractors in the sand and throwing rocks into the pools of water near the dam.
Fantastic book collection! I started "the other boleyn girl" and have now borrowed it from our local library to finish it off. We loved listening to the frogs and the fire in the evening.
My family all live in Maryborough, so we'll definitely be back to stay, the house made a great base for a family visit while letting us have a bit of time to ourselves too.

Ironbark’s is a perfect getaway, a superb house for dining, drinking and chatting by the fire or having a glass of wine on the deck at sunset. The house has everything you could possibly wish for, comfortable beds, tasteful furniture, a great sound system and a supremely well provided kitchen, even an espresso machine.
The surrounding bush is interesting. Lots of kangaroos at dusk and Douglas, an avid birdwatcher and walker saw 68 individual species of birds and observed that the area was an intersection for birds from south eastern Australia and the inland; hence so many sightings in a week.
We will definitely be back; the week was splendid. Thank you.

Just wanted to say a "big thanks" for a wonderful time at a very special place. We all fell in love with Ironbarks. It was the perfect spot to chill out and get ready for another busy 6 months at work. We all hope that we will be able to come back and stay in the not too distant future. Thanks again for all your hospitality.

Our weekend was fantastic, thankyou. Your house is everything you need and more as far as a rental goes. The layout works really well with lots of space and comfortable furnishing. The wood heater is awesome and once warm the house continued to be so with minimal wood.
We took a trailer full of bikes and went for a ride around. I thought the aerial grid map was great and put a bit of adventure into our exploring. Ethan's (4 yr old) favourite thing all weekend was finding the mystery dam. A short night walk with torches was fun.
The whole booking, correspondence, and stay was very thorough and professional with a minimum of fuss.
To be honest, an MCG size oval complete with posts and wicket and an Olympic size heated swimming pool would be the only things missing!!! ( Can this be rectified before our next stay?)
Again, thankyou for a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable stay, I could keep on going on all night about its positives

It was a really lovely stay. The house was beautifully set up, and the call on the night we arrived was unexpected but greatly appreciated. The kids 13-17 years, had a great time exploring the whole property, yabbying (we convinced them on the catch and release of the 3 good size ones they got), rounders out the front, and a bit of reading and game playing in the evening.

During the day we were often out and about. Dunolly, Avoca, some wineries (Blue Pyrenese and Mount Avoca), Melville caves, and just some general walking and sight seeing. Looked around where the Welcome Stranger was found. Dean developed a taste for the coffee at Wright on Broadway.

We had a lovely stay at Ironbarks, thanks.  The girls loved the hammock, playground, toys and books (and the sheep!).  The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed, the butcher was kind enough to leave us some meat for pick up and we ate way too much from the Dunolly bakery - so fun was had by all!

Michele, April 2011

Just wanted to let you know we had a lovely time at your property. What a great place, we can’t wait to go back and we have only just got home!!  We went to Melville caves. That was well worth it. Wouldn’t recommend it to the elderly though. What a steep hike. The kids loved it but I was glad to get back down when we finished. We will do a longer hike next time. We had a delicious feed from the fish and chips shop in Dunolly.  PS The kids said thanks for letting them ride their bikes. The went up and down the driveway and around the house a couple of times.  He went out into the forest and had a great time dodging spiders. The hammock and dry creek bed were a huge hit too.

Kirrilly, April 2011

The photos don't do the property justice. The house was so much bigger than expected with heaps of room for the kids to enjoy. We loved the modern touches that helped keep the workload down. It was wonderful to see the kids yabbying and spending time near the dam. We definitely didn't want to leave and could have stayed another week. Thanks again. Would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to taste the country life and relax.

Jeff, November 2010

We had a great time at Ironbarks.  The house is exceptionally well set up!  I think my dad was a bit nervous having let me organise the accommodation, but he loved the place – he wanted to leave you a note to say thanks, but I told him that I would email you when we got back to let you know how much we enjoyed it. The only problem we had was that we weren’t at the house enough – with the wedding all day on Saturday (and what a wet day it was!!!), we were disappointed that we didn’t have a chance to enjoy it more!  We thought the house was very well fitted out – I can’t think of anything that we needed which wasn’t there.  I thought the hammock was great – although again, the rain spoiled my fun!

Margeaux, November 2010

Just want to let you know how much we all enjoyed our stay at Ironbarks on the weekend.  We arrived on Friday in Dunolly at about 530pm just in time to pick up our snags and osso bucco from Andy the butcher (thanks for the tip!)  Saw kangaroos and bunnies jumping around on our approach to Ironbarks.....after a few minutes wrestling the combination lock on the gate we arrived at the house. So clean and tidy thank you!  It really had everything we needed and the kids loved the train set and spent hours on play equipment. We went for walks each day - many rocks thrown in dam and followed little creek and sheep tracks.  Lunch at Dunolly bakery.....Mt Avoca winery and Blue Pyrenees got squeezed in too.

Great spot you have there...we'll let all our friends know!

Rachel, August 2010

We had the most wonderful weekend at Ironbarks - the kids even decided it was ' the best days of the lives'!  We even had to tag team on Sat to go into town to vote, as the kids refused to leave the property.  They had an absolute ball finding everything on the map, following sheep around, playing with the hay bales and on the equipment outside - but the big hit was playing in the mud by the dams!  The weather was so great that they even stripped down to their underwear on Sunday so they could completely cover themselves.  Thanks for letting us leave late on Sunday - I think they would have been devastated had we said we had to go early Sunday morning.

Yvette, August 2010

Just thought I'd drop you a quick line to say thanks again for the use of Ironbarks.

I thought the property was fantastic and really had everything you could ask for in a holiday home, needless to say we were all very impressed and reluctant to leave.

You can be assured of future bookings from me. In fact, my uncle is in need of a break so I plan to haul him up that way in the next month or so.

 Darren, June 2010

Just wanting to say a big thank you! We had a brilliant time at Ironbarks.
We would love to come up again so how do we organise that: through this email account?
Thanks for your help too.

 Sharon, March 2010

We really enjoyed exploring the property and the whole area - we really liked the feel of Dunolly. The house was very comfortable and clean - thankyou - and we had terrific sleeps.

 Janetta, September 2010

Dear Sarah and Rick,
We can't thank-you enough for letting us stay here at Ironbarks.  The house is fantastic, the kids loved it and I liked coming back to a very warm dry house after Pony Club.  PS. We'd love to return and will tell lots of our friends.
